Step 1
Wooden patterns & 3D data conversion
Casting always starts with a pattern that becomes the basis of the product. We convert hand-drawn drawings into 2D or 3D data, and check with a 3D model that the shape matches the drawing. We do everything in-house, from pattern design to pattern making.
Send us your drawings, and we take care of everything through to delivery: pattern design, pattern making, casting, and machining.
We also accept orders for patterns only, or for 3D models only.

Step 2
Casting design & solidification analysis
Before casting, we run mold filling and solidification analyses with a casting simulation system to see how the molten metal will flow and solidify.
The analysis identifies areas where casting defects are likely to occur, and we reflect this in the casting design, such as the position and size of gates and risers. Instead of discovering defects after production, we reduce the risk before production, which helps lower defect rates and improve production efficiency.
This casting design and solidification analysis is carried out jointly by Co Creation Co., Ltd. and Ueda Metal Works Co., Ltd.

Step 3
Casting & machining
Our group company Ueda Metal Works Co., Ltd. casts a wide variety of parts for industrial and construction machinery. It casts copper alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, and cast steel in-house, and handles high-mix, low-volume orders and single pieces.
If it is a casting, please ask us, whatever the shape. Although it depends on the material, we generally accept orders from a single piece.
Castings can be machined in-house on conventional lathes (up to Φ1,600) and milling machines. We check for casting defects during machining, and repair them as needed before delivery.
- Copper alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, and cast steel can all be cast by one company, so you do not need separate suppliers for each material
- From small parts of about 5 kg to large parts of about 2 t, generally from a single piece
- Material composition is checked with an optical emission spectrometer to guarantee material quality
- Because casting and machining are done in-house, casting defects found during machining can be repaired on the spot

Step 4
Finishing, weld repair & inspection
Our group company Ueda Metal Works Co., Ltd. carries out weld repair, fettling, and non-destructive testing of castings.
Castings can develop various flaws known as casting defects. Manufacturers take measures against them, but it is impossible to guarantee that defects will never occur.
We check the extent of the defect, carry out the repair, and deliver only after receiving your approval.
Repairing castings is difficult. Whether a part can be saved depends on the defect, the weld repair skills, and the finish and dimensional changes after welding.
We also take on fettling of castings after discussing the product specifications and drawings with you.
Inspection is carried out at Ueda Metal Works Co., Ltd. Parts that require higher accuracy can be inspected with the precision measuring instruments of Hayahoshi Seiko Co., Ltd., such as image measuring systems and form measuring machines. The inspection method can be chosen within our group to suit the required accuracy.
- Before remaking a defective casting, we can check whether repair can save it
- Repaired parts are delivered only after your approval
- Parts that require high accuracy can be inspected more precisely with the measuring instruments of Hayahoshi Seiko Co., Ltd.
- Everything from casting to finishing, repair, and inspection is completed within our group
Step 5
Machining
Our group company Hayahoshi Seiko Co., Ltd. performs precision machining. It handles a wide variety of materials and parts, from thin-walled products to complex shapes.
For quality control, Hayahoshi Seiko Co., Ltd. is ISO 9001 certified and guarantees dimensions with precision measuring instruments, including image measuring systems and form measuring machines.
It handles everything from mass production to small lots, including high-mix, low-volume machining, and also accepts orders from a single piece.
Ueda Metal Works Co., Ltd. also machines castings in-house with 11 conventional lathes and 2 milling machines. Its lathes can machine large castings up to Φ1,600. We check for casting defects at the machining stage and repair them as needed before delivery.

Sourcing
Trade & sourcing
Even for parts our group cannot cast, you still have just one point of contact.
Large castings beyond our group’s equipment and high-volume production parts are sourced by Co Creation Co., Ltd. through its own network in Japan and overseas, and delivered in the same integrated way as parts made within our group. There is no need to split your orders, such as “this size goes to another company” or “mass production goes overseas.”
- Large parts in any material, with a track record of about 7 t in cast iron and about 3.5 t in stainless steel
- Even if a casting defect is found after delivery, it is handled within our group

Repair and inspection of sourced parts within our group
Castings sourced overseas can also be weld-repaired and inspected within our group (Ueda Metal Works Co., Ltd.). Even if a problem is found in a later process, we can handle it through to a solution without passing it to another company.
Importing foundry consumables, and overseas sourcing based on site visits
We import the consumables needed for casting ourselves, and our group companies actually use them in production. Drawing on the overseas sourcing experience we have built since our founding, we visit local factories in person and source materials reliably. We have also achieved cost reductions in our own operations.
